Hi Folks,

After having such a great time in Austria in March, I'm planning a skiing holiday to La Plagne. As there are a number of us going and not everyone is skiing we are planning on going in 2nd week of April - to get cheap accomodation and enjoy some sun when not skiing, and go other places as well e.g. Vanoise park etc.

How are the slopes around Champagny at this time of year? (is it ski all the way down to the village, or catch the cable car?). Also is it easy enough for beginners to get back down to Champagny from the main La plagne bowl, in terms of slope steepness and snow cannon coverage? I know it cant be predicted for next year, but just wondering if anyone else has gone at this time of year?

Thanks for any help

Chances are very slim that you would be able to ski all the way down to Champagny by 2nd week in April - village is quite low & south facing, but should be fine skiing back to top of bubble (for beginners this is the best option anyway..
Depending on which way you go there are mellow blues back from LP to the top of the Champagny bubble..
