I desperately want to take a friend skiing for his first time - but he suffers cronic vertigo!!! He can't do gondalas or probably even chairs. Stubai, my favorite, is out Definately of the question!
Anyone know of some nice resorts in Europe with easy runs that don't require driving up the edge of a cliff, or transport by gondala? I'm Australian and don't know europe that well. My friend is German, so a resort in Austria or Germany would be preferred.
Planning for the last week in March.

Hi - Postalm in Austria has plenty of T-bars for a beginner (most people hate them but....) It is a small resort but with only one set of chairs you should be fine - not much though for the experienced/advanced skier.
You get there by either car or ski bus from Strobl, so no gondola!!
Check it out postalm.at (german only site) or on bergfex.com (not listed on J2SKI)
Regards

I can understand you wanting to take your friend skiing as it is such a wonderful experience for most us. I just wonder if you might add panic attacks to the vertigo problem though?

Is it Vertigo or a fear of heights that your friend has? Skiing with vertigo is nearly impossible. I had this due to an inner ear problem once and it was horrible. I could not ski without feeling nauseated and feeling that the slopes were closing in on me. The fear of heights may be easier to overcome I would imagine
