Hi All
I never considered a Helmet before but with the statistics about people being killed or seriously damaged without them I am now looking around, but know nothing about them. Austria have just brought in a law that al children under 14 MUST wear them and that is for no reason....
Any tips on buying a helmet, must haves, brands, nice to haves etc etc
Regards

Tips? Try it on.. does it fit? If yes then it is the correct one. If no, keep looking.
As long as it has the CE mark (dont remember the number for snow specific helmets) and it fits you then that is all that is required±!

Try on lots before you buy, take your goggles and shades with you to make sure they fit nicely. It's possible to pay anything from £25 (my OH's Giro9) to around £200.
Buy the one that fits :D

Thanks - I guess then if it fits...... :)
I know they don't look that cool or you look like a total professional - one end of the scale or the other, but I am getting maybe too old to care if my head is going to look like mush.... sense prevails if you are a crap (only 3 weeks on snow) skier!
Trying to get my 18 year old daughter to wear one might prove more difficult :)

£210 gets you one of these for the 18 year old
I'm 18 and have a 'Sweet' helmet, I think it is cool

Yeah looks quite cool to me - I will check them out when I get there - there being Austria (again :) )
There are loads of ski shops of course and not far from the apartment is a discount store - I can't find them online but wil post the link when I have the info.
Going to Gosau/Russbach in the Dachstein West and of course try the smaller area of Postalm for a couple of days first to get lessons.
Thanks all for your help
Lisa
