Hi Everybody

1st time post here but active on other snow forums. Off to Neiderau on the 31st and staying at the Hotel austria. Conditions look amazing at the moment and I'm starting to get excited.

Anyone else out there starting from the 31st wanting to meet. I will be there with my wife.

We are very familier with Neiderau and although we have skied other places we still enjoy comming back as the resort is quite, friendly all be it a little small.

Also can anyone enlighten us to why the Vicky is closed this year. I know it was looking a little tired but this and the Diane used to be the hub for British tour ops. I am also interested in travelling independently to this resort in the future so any advice would be appreciated.

Hi SuperEagle
Another newbie here! We're thinking of Niederau and are trying to decide between 31 Jan and 28 Feb. I'm keen to go 'cos I want to know what all the fuss is about )
I've been looking at the hotel Austria too - it seems handy for the nursery slopes (we're beginners).
If we decide to go on the 31 Jan, I'll post on here. Maybe we could say hello - I'll be with OH and 8 year old daughter. If we opt for the 28 Feb, I'll be keen to hear what the Austria is like.

Hi Allie

Thanks for reply If we don't see you there then I will be sure to post and let you know how we got on.

Whenever you go you will find Neiderau a fantastic resort for beginners. The Austria is a good hotel and in a fantastic location bettered only by the Alpenland.

I,m heading out with my wife two sons 20 &15 and his mate on the 31st. We are staying at the Harfenwirt for the second time in 3 years.Cant wait now and keep checking the snow reports every turnaround. Will try and catch up for a beer or two if possible. Will keep checking the forum to see how many are heading out.

Cheers

hi I am a newbie here, well have been lurking for a few weeks+ lol.
My OH and son (4) are also staying in Harfenwirt for a week on 31 Jan. We are non-skiiers only due to finance though but love mountains and snow. We got married in Salzburg 5 years ago so already love country and people. Hoping for record snowfall while we're there lol

Does anyone know anything about the hotel Sonnschein? I've dithered around for so long that I'm not finding any availability at the Austria, but have found a good deal to the Sonnschein with Crystal. Is it very far from the nursery slopes, does anyone know (website says 5 mins walk, but with us in ski boots even that could be too far!)

@acarr: 5 minutes in boots would be about right. You can see some of the nursery slopes from the Sonnschein.
It's only a slope.
