Both the Schneeberger and Sonnschein are within 5 minutes' walk.
It's only a slope.

Hi Folks, first post here but spent many an hour reading the posts and learning from those more experienced skiers, great forum ). Afraid we two more N'r. Me and the OH loves the place, both winter and summer.
Spent a great week last year at the Sonnschein and again this January. Great hotel and you will be well looked after by Gill and her team.
As Hamish said it is just a 5 min walk in the morning and as you can store your skis and boots in a room beside Omalleys for free (next to the lift station)the walk gets the legs going in the morning.
Alternatively there is a wee train (pulled by a tractor!) which runs to and from the lift for a small weekly charge (think it was around 10 Euro for the week).
Hope you get booked up and I am sure you will have a great time !

Got back from Niederau last night and am now addicted to skiing as his my 4 year old son.
Hotel Harfenwirt - fantastic
Niederau - Stunning
Reds ski school - Patient and taught me basics of skiing, even though I almost quit on day 2.
Everything about holiday I loved. Thanks for all useful info on this forum, I hope to get to join in more.

Schneeberger.
Was there January and going back March 7th. Great place, quietish but with an all night bar/club place adjoined if that's your thing, and you can't hear it from the hotel proper. Excellent food and as already said a hop and a skip to the slopes.
