Looks like Bormio conditions are icy for the race today, should sort the men from the boy's.

With all that ice about at the end, let's hope it's a safe race.
It's only a slope.

It's a shame that the BBC thinks the ski racing season starts in January, and Channel4 had not cancelled their skiing programming  Then we could watch it.

I love the quotes in the IHT article. Reads like a lot of excuses from the US skiers, and some of the Europeans. My fave quote however.....

Naturally, Italian skiers said their home course suited them perfectly.

I have skied the Stelvio course, as I stayed in Bormio for a couple of weeks, I skied it daily. It was icy then as well, and there was an adverse cambered section fairly high up.

At least Eurosport have sorted out their issues with the Austrian broadcasters so at least we can watch those races too.

I too have skied the stelvio well at least the parts that were open they seem to close parts and detour you to protect parts of the course, but a great downhill run.

Race won by Italian Cristof Innerhofer , ahead of Austrians Klaus Kroll and Michael Walchhofer. Bode Miller came in fourth.

The Italian racer was wearing Bib no 1. Was does that tell us about Bode Miller's strategy, for running late in the race
