Hello People!
I am going to Schladming from the 27th Dec, for 7 days.
I am wondering what the snow conditions will be like and
if everything will be open by then? Also whats Austria like at
new years?

We have stayed in Schladming twice over Christmas week and everything was open. Even if the real snow conditions are not too good they have excellent coverage by snow cannons. Looking at the webcams however it looks good out there. Enjoy!!

O thats good to hear! I was checking the webcams and they looked good, but i was just a little concerned that last years snowfall was much higher this time last year (by last years charts). Thanks!!

Make sure you have lunch at Onkel Willi's - always popular though and usually heaving. Best to get in early or late for a table. If you are staying some distance from the Planai gondola, there are lockers down the stairs at the gondola station for one euro per night - saves you carrying all the gear.

They have 600+ snow canons on the 4 mountains as and when its needed. Im sure you'll be fine. We go there again at the end of January. The pistes were fine in Jan 07 when it was the mildest winter in the valley for 40 years.
