Hi, I have managed to find cheap flights to Turin over New Year with Ryan Air. I want to book them asap but I am struggling to find any accomodation in Cervinia which is ideally where we would like to go. Any suggestions from anyone either for accomodation in Cervinia or other places within easy reach of Turin? Thanks x

Over New Year? You're being extremely hopeful I reckon, sorry.

Have you contacted the Tourist Offices in the area?

Aosta might be a possibility, and give you some flexibility on resort.

Cervinia is really sawn up by the tour operators you will have more luck in La Thuile, 2 hrs .

dont just look in Italy, we are flying to Turin for new years and going in to france to Valmenier. its only an hour and half drive or thereabouts. but there's not alot of cheap accomodation left in the resorts. if you get really stuck for accomodation using Turin itself as a base is not necessarily a bad thing. you can get to Bardonecchia, Sauze d'oulx and Sestrieres within about 1hr20mins on bus or train. It'll cost about 15euro return depending on where you are going. you will miss out on any apres ski in the resorts but at least you get to ski/board!! you could also rent a car to get you up and the drive is mostly motorway once out of the city. Cervinia is a longer drive but... if you are hell bent on going then nothing is too far.

Turin is pretty cool for nights out but dont expect the wildest night of your life. depends on what you are into and how tired you are from early starts!!!

I skied Valmeinier back in 1999, great resort worth a visit :D

I'd agree about Valmeinier, was there in Easter '07, Skiing / boarding was great very close to Valloire which is also fantastic and included in the lift pass. Valloire is more expensive but it's a proper village, not just a resort so you'd get a better new year I'd guess.

i've never actually been to Valmeinier but have only heard good things about it. a bit quiet at night but like the guys said great boarding/skiing. i thing they have a park there aswell with jumps etc, either there or Valloire
