Hi everyone,
I would like to go for as cheap a ski holiday as possible somewhere in this region. In particular I would like somewhere that could be travelled to without too much time by either car hitchhiking or bus from Berlin.
I would be going with my girlfriend who is quite a beginner as far as I'm aware. I myself can ski reasonably well, but am not too bothered if there is relatively little advanced/intermediate options as price is by far the main factor. We will probably do some drinking there but if its very expensive could do most of it in the hostel/guesthouse/hotel.
I have my own gear but she would need to rent, so this would be a factor in price also. If u guys could just give me a rough guide of resorts it would be much appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
Luke

I think maybe you are thinking of Sarajevo, and no - they havent!
Fancy it? You know who we might see there........Cjat, Minja, Svetlana, etc
Get down to Munich and make that your base. The Alps are only half hour away...
If you want to go a bit further East (avoiding those Alp prices) then Jasna, Slovakia is the most extensive, before you get to Bulgaria (a long hitch). The train prices in Central Europe are an absolute bargain.
Hi Tony, what is Jasna like...have you been there?
A quick google search and it seems a little expensive...

Hi and welcome.
I have no idea about getting there from Berlin, but Borovets is cheap and by far the best of the Bulgarian resorts, with a fair amount of skiing.
Apres appears pretty good too and at a great price.
Maybe this will get you started on your search - good luck.

Kapaonik in Serbia, or Jasna in Slovakia are good shouts. I believe there is also some skiing to be done in Poland, although I know nothing about it. That might be nearest, and easy to get to if you are hitching.
