Hi all
I am an intermediate boarder and I will be snowboarding in Austria for 6 days in Jan and I would like to know the best three or four Ski areas around Innsbruck.
Also I will need to rent the board do you know any good deals?

mayrhofen looks like a good bet, the Vans park looks sweet, might even venture on there with the ol'ski's
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

The closest and best area would be the Stubai, it's linked by a ski bus to the centre of Innsbruck. There's several distinct area in the valley and all are good for boarding. The other "must visit" station would be Axamer Lizum but this gets busy at weekends as it's a favourite boarders station for Innsbruck. I think a Stubai pass would cover Axamer, or at least it used to.

Stubai is great if there's new snow. There are a few places off the main runs on the lower part of the area that stay un-cut for about a week. Follow the route from the main station by starting off behind it and passing the DANGEROUS cliffs.

Good luck.

There's the Wilde Grub'n IIRC, brilliant long unprepared run down to the valley station.
