hi everyone, bit curious on a few things re.Borovets

is tap water in hotels safe for brushing teeth ?

if you take your own ski gear and pay the 15 £ flight suplement ,do you have to pay anything extra to the bus transfer Sofia to Boro. ?

Is there any advice re buying a lift pass through holiday operator (85£) or buy when in Boro.?

Booked in at Ela hotel-should I be worried !!!

hello all just booked a week in borovets from 22 dec.Not been to snow since last decade, when in New Zealand.

I’ll try to answer most of your questions.

1. tap water is SAFE. Its much cleaner that the tab water in UK. brush your teeth without a worry. Its good for drinking as well
2.Bus transfer is free for your gear (but again u r foreigner there so they can ask you for 3-4 pounds)
3. Lift passes- i think is best to get it there
4.Hotel Ela is fine. but again don’t expect Hilton!

Thought I would reply in teh correct place re Borovets. Following on from the other comments re Bulgaria in the BAnsco thread, I got concerned so looked elsewhere for reviews.

I have found some positive ones http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Borovets/reviews (sorry if you delete this link as it is a 'competitor')

They all seem to say they enjoyed it.

Each to their own I reckon.

I am going again now!

Iceman.

Food is good, but no prices listed outside so be a little aware. We were recommended the Chilli Pepper and it's very good and reasnoble as so is Frankies, and the Karoka bar just at the side of the far left slope is great with 2 for one drinks at certain times and although small has a great atmosphere, don't do what we did and get slaughtered the night before coming home though, packing was a nightmare, well it was for my partner as i couldn't move, grin, hope you enjoy ... were going back at end of March, :D regards samantha

My dads there at the mo and he's just been on the phone! He said that its good, the skiing's good and there's a nice long green run about 3 miles long roughly!

His Jacket zip broke when he got there and he's ended up buying a north face jacket and sallopetes for £100.

He had a private lesson today with 2 of his mates and they payed 70 levi each which is the equvialent to £26/27! A bargain i'd say.
