We're thinking of skiing in Les Collons (4 valleys). If any of you have skiied and stayed in this village please would you let me know what you thought of the skiing, village, resturants, amenities etc.

Is it good for kids (ski schools, nursery slopes etc)?

Thanks

Hi

Les Collons-Thyon 2000 is a skiers and boarders dream having great snow from November to April. Located at the end of the 4 valleys it benefits from one of the largest ski regions in Europe with over 400 kms of pistes and over 100 ski lifts.

The ski area above Les Collons has fabulous wide sunny slopes perfect for all and includes one of the most famous ski slopes in the Alps, the fabulous Piste de L'Ours. With some of the best off piste you can ski everywhere, there is no need to ski to Verbier but you can get there on skis in just over an hour.
The Billabong board park is located at Thyon 2000, also close by there is paragliding, ski schools, helisking, cross-country, night skiing with torches, ice skating and snowtubing.
With the traditional Swiss village of Heremence below, Les Masses its lift and restaurant just 500 yards away and the Les Collons resort just 200 metres up the mountain. Les Collons links into the Verbier ski system, Just 1h45m from Geneva and 20 minutes from medieval town of Sion with its restaurants, bars, shops and museums. Les Collons is located at the end of the 4 valleys and is part of one of the largest and highest ski regions in Europe, it is also within easy reach of Evolene, Crans-Montana, Grimentz and Zermatt. The village faces east and catches the morning sun and there are magnificent mountain views to enjoy.

In the centre of Les Collons there are a couple of hotels, several good restaurants and a few bars, the real charm of the area is the feeling of traditional Switzerland as you gaze down at the larch forests with delightful chalets dotted over the slopes and church spires in quaint villages on the other side of the valley

Hi

Good restaruants, La Cambuse, Chottes in the next valley which is great for lunch, try the cheese board. Chalet Mayen by the Trabanta lift is also good. There are lots of great restaurants in the area serving traditional Swiss mountain food are reasonable prices. The restaurant Les Masses is good too.

I'd be interested to know how you got on with the ski school. I've skiied in Les Collons/Thyon before, but we have some people coming with us later in the season who need to have lessons (ski and snowboard). One is a nervous first timer.,
