Hi all, first post here and it could be a tricky one.
My wife and I are off to JH in Jan for 10 days, we're intermediates but as we ski in varied places and conditions we've not bought skis, just good boots. Now the million dollar question, where's reasonable to hire in JH (town, we're at the Wort)?

So far I've found several outlets linking back to a common page giving $316/10 days each, then skibuttlers are $577 each, d2dskis are $368 each and the lowest cost are Sports Authority at $200 each for a package but no details, we're in the realms of purchase price for many of these, but we don't want to buy.

Does anyone have any insight, hints etc?

RichJ... not sure how you feel about the costs but we have always hired skis and always had demo skis(we have our own boots). We have 1 week in tignes and then 2 weeks in the states in march and ski hire for us was going to work out about £80 tignes and £360 for usa each. we also have a family get together in the calendar for 2016 so would end up paying the same in rental costs again. For us it was a no brainer to buy skis this time.
After a bit of research and knowing which skis you want a nice and friendly UK major ski outlet will price match with European locations - have have now got soul 7's which i have used for 7 days earlier in the year at a stonking price and saved in excess of £200 and they have worked out about the same cost as what my 2015 rental costs would have been.

We have taken our own skis, when in Colorado, although, on one trip, I bought a pair of K2s in Dillon. Would have been cheaper than hiring.
