Does anyone know of any companies that offer catered chalets in La Thuile? Or am I more likely to find something in La Rosiere as it does seem that the Italians have not embraced the catered chalet concept quite as much as other countries!
I am looking for one that allows you to book by the room.
Thanks for any info. you may have.

There are not many catered chalets in that area, there are more around the dolomite area ..... too many good reasonable priced restaurents in Italy for Catered chalets.....

There's a place called the Chalet Eden in La Thuile, but it's more of a hotel than a catered chalet, I'm afraid. Accommodation in La Thuile tends to be hotel or apartment based and La Rosiere has much more in the way of catered chalet choice.

Italy really doesn't do catered chalets at all. Crystal and SkiTotal have some in Arabba and Selva, and Inghams and Neilson used to have a couple in the Dolomites too, but nothing at all in La Thuile. However, La Rosiere is FULL of them - Ski Olympic have some very good ones as well.

Very good; lots of cruises higher up, some seriously steep stuff back into the village. The slopes are generally quiet and the link to La Rosiere adds another dimension. And a free bus takes you to and from Courmayeur.

Agree with LOTA. La Thuile offers most everything, nice blues, cruisy reds, challenging blacks B2 and B3 back to the village as well as the LOOOONGGGGG button to recover back from La Rosiere. Lots of snow forecast and only 12 days for me to wait -)

Must agree with the consensus that the skiing in La Thuile and La Rosiere is excellent. It would be my first choice for an away day from Courmayeur. I hear that it can be prone to blowing a hooley up there and that when it does it isn't any fun at all. All I'm saying is to choose your day for a daytrip. :-)
Things may have changed but back in 2002 we found the value, quality, service and attitude all markedly superior in the restaurants on the Italian side.
