Hi all, just wondering if anyone could tell me what are the snow conditions like in Garmisch for this weekend 17th jan '14, my mates and I are thinking of making the trip there from Frankfurt, so just wondering would it be a waste of time for us???

I have just got back from Garmisch, and there was very little snow, however if you get a top pass and can use all the lifts you can go up to the very top of the alpitzpan, and the snow is quite good up there, you can also go on the Zugspitze where there is always lots of snow. Depending on your level of boarding there will probably be something to suit you,. The top of the black Kandahar is quite good with good big moguls and fairly nice snow. Earwald is just across the boarder in Austria and it has better snow and a great park, which I think boarders can access.

Thanks Trisha for the reply, very helpful info indeed. My 2 friends that are coming with me are only learning to board so do you think the top slopes will be ok for them?
