Looking to book Aurach nr Kitzbuhel. Has anyone been there that can offer up any advice on what its like and did they make use of the big area lift pass?

Stayed in aurach this year its ideal for the kitzbuhel area so long as you get to the ski bus stop in time or willing to pay 10 euros to get into town in a taxi however its not so good if using the lift pass that takes in the ski welt area to get proper use of it may require taxis or a long bus journey back apres ski is quiet to say the least but over all i would recommend it.

Many thanks for that kj, there are 5 of us going, not booked yet, but are waiting for the price to drop, did you use the train at all to get use from your pass, or was that not an option?

What we done was get early bus for lifts opening and skied in the morning at either end of the area then skied back into kitzbuhel or pass thurn at the end of day and got the bus back there is more than enough skiing available on the kitzbuhel area pass to keep most amused for the week the people in our hotel with the all star pass said it was more hastle than its worth trying to get back. The station in kitzbuhel is around 20 mins by bus from the aurach.

again many thanks kj, you've given us food for thought, might be just as well to go for the area pass as there's nothing worse than travelling eating up your hours and keeping you off the slopes eh!
