We (a group of 4 adults) are travelling to Sauze D'oulx for the first time in January 07.

The two guys are very good skiers, however us gals have only ever been once before and are looking at private lessons in the morning of our first few days.

Does anyone know of a ski school for this? We booked with Crystal and they didn't offer private tuition.

Cannot wait now - very excited - and only 89 days to go! :D

Also, wanted to know, we are staying in Sauze D'oulx. Would our lift pass work for other resorts in the Milky Way?

Hi Sam,

Sauze has 3 ski schools all of which do private lessons. The one I would recommend is known as the Green Ski School. Their office can be found on via monfol in between Moncrons cocktail bar and the Assietta hotel.

Check out www.sauzeonline.com for more information.

Skiing in Sauze in Jan is usually excellent. Plenty of snow and great pistes. You will have ski passes that cover the whole of the Via Lattea and this will give you plenty of variety with over 400km of pistes.
I would certainly recommend Moncrons bar for apres ski. Mark runs the show and is a great host. Also the best restaurant in town is Il Falcone owned by a guy called Vince Hawkins. Tell them Kent sent you and they will look after you!

If you are looking for a good instructor and somewhere else to drink go to Il Lampone and ask for Alex.

Still looking for somewhere to stay then check out http:www.belvederebedandbreakfast.com for our ski packages.

Hi. Four of us are going to Sauze in January too. Haven't booked yet but looking for a good hotel. The Relais Des Alpe looks favourite but has anyone any recommendations?

Secondly, are there any ski in/ski out hotels that are a reasonable distance from the old town (for the nightlife)?
