Let this be a lesson to me - and all those of you on J2ski - I bought a fab pair of Atomic ski boots 3 years ago, had a great week skiing with them in Switzerland, however, 1 ankle operation, DVT and 3 years later, and I have been walking around my kitchen in them AND THEY DON'T FIT!! so I only have myself to blame and have just had a phone call from the Crystal Rep for our trip at the weekend (and was very nice and reassured me I would be able to hire in resort)!

I would like to say I could cry... but I won't because I will be positive as I am going skiing...and hire a pair in resort... and then try to sell these to a new owner!

So if you have ski stuff you have not worn for a while, get it out of the loft in good time and make sure that it fits! It has not been fun in my kitchen tonight! :x
Rather a bad day on the slopes than a good day in the office!

Where have they been stored whilst not being worn? And were they buckled up?

You could try doing them up so they are in the correct shape, then leaving them in your airing cupboard for a day or so to see if they loosen up and fit more comfortably.

One year I kept mine in the cold loft....it took 7 days for them to loosen up. Unfortunately those 7 days were while I was skiing

If they are only feeling too tight, well that's normal after just one off season, after three... Over time the heat molding foam expands again. I normally need a day or so in really, really thin socks at the beginning of the season. I would take your boots with with you and have them reheated at a ski store. Unless of course it more than just feeling too small.
because I'm so inclined .....

It likely wasn't the cold, but the heat in the summer. Lofts get extremely hot, enough to mess with the foam of the liner.

They have been in the back bedroom for the last week since I got all the stuff from the loft, I will try again with some different socks. A sign of my age once I hit the big five-zero!

Just such a shame as I spent 2 whole afternoons at the Snowdome getting fitted up, and they were great, so have only played about in them for 1 week.

I must think positive, both my consultant and osteopath said I can go skiing, so all is not lost.. but there were a few expletives muttered... and I think it is safe for the cat to come out from under the bed now...

You may well see them advertised in a week or two! :)
