Hi Jeandurie, I would not worry too much.

Differences in snow reports are quite common, it all depends on where the person doing the report sticks his stick into the snow  Plus older sticks tend to have the ends snapped off, so report more snow than there actually is. Some resorts even leave the sticks in specially dug holes, so they always start off with an extra 40 cm or so.

The J2SKI report uses a big old stick and they have updated today with the following La Thuile Report

Trust me on this, but you will be fine with the snow in La Thuile. The reports on not much snow in Italy are almost certainly from a bit further over, and from earlier in the season. La Thuile is linked to La Rosiere, which is in France. You cannot tell me that the snow in La Thuile will be non existent because it is in Italy, but if you cross the border up the hill and get to France, then it is all OK because that is in France :!:

Just start packing, and look forward to a great holiday. Enjoy and report back after please, with pics if possible. Thanks.

PS Only kidding about the sticks and holes.... Err I think!

Be sure to make the trip from La Thuile to La Rossierre France. It is a lot of skiing, but well worth the trip. We left La Thuile in the morning, had lunch in France and then skied back - it is a great trip for an advanced intermediate.
