Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy a second hand set of twin tip all mountain skis this year. Something I can rip up the pistes as well as going off in the powder without any problems.

I nearly bought these ones on eBay. ( item number 130625321339) but ended up missing the end time by a couple of minutes.

I am 6'1 and weigh about 13.5 stone and I would say I'm a good skier.

Can anyone suggest what I should buy?

Wasn't planning on buying new as I will be using them in Scotland pretty much all the time so no doubt the base of them will get scratched and battered with the current conditions.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks all.

Those silencers are a park orientated twin tip-for what you have just described I would recommend either the 4frnt msp-not easy to get hold of second hand. I own a pair of them, skied them all season and I reckon they are as close to 'all mountain' as you can get-hold an edge on piste but fat enough o actually be decent in powder. The silencers are soft and flappy on piste and to narrow for powder-even Scottish powder!
Also worth a look is th k2 Kung fujas and armada el ray although the el ray is a bit narrow under foot it's the best twin tip I've ever skied on piste. I took part in the industry ski test 2years ago because I was doing a season in bormio so tested quite a few!!
Where du ski in Scotland? I live in Glasgow and head up pretty regularly

Hi thanks for the reply. I'll look into what u have suggested.

I stay in Ayr. I usually jump in the car any chance I get and go where ever the best conditions are for the day. I was at Glencoe on Sunday there and got a bit wet. Hence the reason I want to get my skis sorted before I return for another day :)

Yeah I was going to head up on Sunday but didnt due to forecasted rain, kinda glad to hear it was a bit damp.....

Supposed to get cold again towards the end of this but don't think the snow is holding up too well atm!

If you looking for second-hand skis, try searching for Rossignol Scratch BC. This is an older model so you might be able to find it cheap. Stay away from park skis - they are too noodly.

I owned those skis a few years back but found them to be too soft and floppy-mind you Im heavier than the average bear at about 115kg!
