We are going to Pas de la casa for are third trip in march.
We have skied most of the blue's in Pas & Soldeu/El Tartar but not any reds, well only when we go the wrong way.

We are all 40+ and most of us are not as brave or fit as we used to be ,but are hoping to tackle a few reds this time????

Looking at the Piste map we can ski from Pas-El tartar on blues but on the way back we would have to use a few red runs  .

What would be the easiest route back or are all the reds hard

As an example the Blue (Pastora) from the top of pas into Grau ,we all found that quite steep at the top ,but that was are first trip and we could only snowplough at the time.

thanks nyck

I skied the Pas/Grau Roig area over to the Cotrals/Funicamp lift a couple of years ago and there wasn't a difficult run in the area. Its all really easy cruising, blue or red. The only hard stuff I found was venturing round the back of the lac del cubil which wasnt pisted anyway. Having said that, nothing past the Cortals link was open so I haven't skied down from Emportona into Soldeu.
Grau Roig had some quite nice slopes though, much nicer than over the Pas side.

Been a while since I was there but a quick look at map has jogged my memory a bit.

I think you're only talking about a couple of short red sections, not even neccessarily full runs and I dont rememebr any of them being too hairy/steep/narrow/mogulled

I'd say do the reds in Pas (directa 1 and 2 which I think at least one used to be classified blue) to build some confidence and go for it. Take your time and I'm sure you will be fine.

Oh and have a Flugel in the Underground for me!

Take a day trip to Arcalis as well. By far the best skiing in Andorra by a country mile.

I think is the best plan for us,We have skied most of Directa 1+2 but not from the top.I think we would of tried it last year but it didnt snow whilst we were there beginning of feb and the ice patches were getting bigger and bigger and i didnt find it much fun

From looking at the piste map and from memory you will only have to ski short bits of reds. But from my experience I have always found the runs in soldeu quite easy, they have always being well groomed and good condition which makes them easier to ski.

I wish they would make them not as steep as well
