Has anyone used the Otztal shuttle from Innsbruck airport to Solden?
I'm looking at travelling independently in January and there are only three scheduled services during the day - none of which on the outbound trip fit very well with the flights.
Any advice, or alternative suggestions for transfer (perhaps by rail?) would be appreciated. None of the tourist office websites etc are particularly helpful. Thank you.

Hi Lota,
We have not used the shuttle however, we met a couple in Obergurgl that used it and said it was very good. We have used the train from Innsbruck to Oetztal Banhnhof but its a further 30 minutes from there to Solden.
Here is some information I found that may assist. :D Where it takes you: Haiming, Oetztal Bahnhof and the whole of the Oetztal
The journey starts at Innsbruck Airport at the departure times stated.
We take the Inntal motorway (A12) westbound to the Oetztal exit.
After a journey-time of approximately 30 Minutes, we reach the lower Oetztal (Haiming to Oetz). We then continue to the upper Oetztal. We reach Sölden and/or Obergurgl after another 1 hour travelling time.
Transfers are from the following pick-up and drop-off points and/or bus stops:
• Obergurgl Centre, Hochfirst, Hochgurgler Bahn, Hotel Mühle and Jagdhof
• Zwieselstein Gasthof Neue Post
• Sölden Gaislachkogelbahn, Sölden Postplatz and Giggijochbahn
• Huben Gasthof Alpenblick
• Längenfeld turn off to Aqua Dome, Längenfeld Gemeinde and Hotel Edelweiss
• Umhausen Fire Station and Farchat Estate
• Tumpen Riederbrücke
• Oetz Posthotel Kassl
• Sautens Wendeplatz
• Ötztal Train Station Bus stop
• Haiming Gemeinde
• To Innsbruck Airport
Important: Please advise us exactly where you are staying and/or where you will be getting on the bus. E.g. Sölden – Postplatz. If you have ordered a VIP or Comfort Shuttle please let us know which hotel you are staying in, e.g. "Sölden – Hotel Forexample" so that we can collect you from your hotel.

Thanks. I have no doubt the Otztal shuttle would do the job, but there's a fair chance I could be waiting at Innsbruck airport for four hours, even the flight is on time!
Will investigate the service to Otztal railway station from Innsbruck and a bus on from there - as a back-up plan.

These guys are minibus taxis, much cheaper than normal taxis. But probably depends on whether they have other customers on the day, normally need to book. They speak good English in the office, & are reliable. The specialise in airports, probably they will wait for late flights up to a point.
