Sorry if this is a FAQ (I did do a search but didn't come up with anything) but I am arriving in Geneva on 26th March and can't find a transfer for anything less than a billion squillion pounds. Does anyone have any recommendations please?
Thanks,VLN

Railway station, Brucie, not train station!!!!
Endorse what you say, though. The railway stations that are part and parcel of the airports make it much the best way -and most economical - to get to a Swiss resort. And the Swiss Transfer Pass is a set price at £72 return is excellent value!

Maybe worth hiring a car, depending on time you are there. You are going to Switzerland, it wouldn't be right if it wasn't a fortune.

Take the train!
From Zermatt website's arrival advice :-
...hire car might work out better value if there's a group of you though.

one can simply check luggage and skis directly through to Zermatt, and board a train (under the airport terminal) within the hour...

A Swiss Transfer Ticket will cover the journey there and back and costs around £75 2nd class.

Yes - The train is your best bet. I've done this trip and t is easy and convenient.
Train station is downstairs at Airport. Change at Visp for journey up the mountain. Electric taxi to hotel - Job done!! :D

I've done the trip to Zermatt by train and it's far easier than by car/bus. You have to park the car at the transfer station anyway and catch the train, so you might as well do it by train from the start. You can work out the schedule using the railway website:

There are discount fares available to foreigners. As well as the site above, you can also get tickets from the Swiss Tourist Office in London, who are also very helpful if you 'phone them up:

Thank you everyone! I will definitely look into the train. Is it far cheaper to get the tickets in advance or doesn't it make much difference?
(And what's wrong with train station?!!)
Cheers!
