I will be heading up there when there is a good sunny day, as I dont want to miss the chance. I have not planned a day to do the Sarenne, but it will be the first sunny day after the 10th Jan.
I was hoping to ski over at Signal de l'Homme day 1, but I will be making a trip up there Andy, for sure.
I cant answer for Stewart but he was hoping to get up there by the end of the week.
At least we do not need to worry about the snow being an issue now anyway. This time next week we will be thinking about finishing our first days skiing.

Excellent, good positive attitude Mr D as usual. Looking forward to spending the week with you and Z, and to seeing you up on the slopes at last!

In most conditions The Sarenne is easy for a black. It's only really black so they can claim the longest black run status. Since the third stage of the Marmottes lift was built from the point it joins the run it's no more than red.
The only time it gets tricky is either in spring conditions when it can be icy in the morning or after heavy snow if it's not been pisted. People get far too concerned about the colour of runs and not about what is actually there.
Conditions should be really good for us so I wouldn't hesitate taking intermediates down it (and even beginners when freshly pisted).
The difference between the Sarenne and the Tunnel is about as big as it gets. I'd only take good skiers down the Tunnel.

I'm pleased you say it is not a hard black. On Christmas eve I tore a disc in my back and am going for an intense course of physio to get me skiing next week. Thy physio said the best he can do is get me onto reds but not blacks or bumps. I'm sure if you say it is an easy black the physio can't complain if I give it a go!! :D

I could not agree more about getting hung up on the colour of the slope.
Fresh snow and a nicely pisted Sarenne could be great for us all, but would make it more enjoyable for Stewart too which would be cool.
