Cheerful Charley has been on here I see.
ADH is well priced in the main for France. Expect to pay 2-3 euros for a coffee on the slopes. I have paid as little as 2.50 euros for a large beer in happy hour and as much as 6 euros for a large one. I dont see that as expensive for a ski resort in France, but clearly some do. Miserable old men.
Food around the mountain isnt bad either. Go to La Grange up by the Oz cable car mid station for superb food and the best Pizza there is. Avoid Folie Deuce if you dont like being fleeced.
Lovely restaurant in the village old town called Edelweiss, 21 euros for a superb fillet steak and dauphinoise potatos.
Give up the fags. I dont use supermarkets as that means you're self catering, like Mr Hull I tend to go catered and abuse the free wine.

Great ski resort, enjoy.

British drinking culture explained in 4 posts :-).

The French might claim that you can buy a very nice bottle of red in a specialist shop in most reports for ~7 Euro and there is even a Brit bin with bottles for <5 Euro.

Even in the most expensive reports a Plat du jour is not going to cost you more than 15 Euro with a glass of wine or dessert thrown in.

Those pizzas are a good enough reason to go to Alpe D'Huez! I've never had a better one. 88 days and counting!
