You could always pole back out the tunnel again if it looks anything like this one...

not my vid, but watch from about 4:20min you get an idea of how steep.

Am I alone in thinking that most of the people in that video should not have been on a slope like that. It didn't look like much skiing was going on. I'm suprised there was only one man down during those 5 or so minutes.

The hardest section is pushing on the flat in the tunnel! )

On a serious note though, it is pretty tough. I have skied it a few times over the last 3 years with varying snow conditions. Each season the "recommended" route is different. Last year it was a narrow steep ski after the intial mogul section, the year before you could ski the whole top section from one side to the another and before you knew it you were down!

It is a good challenge and I would recommend people just have a go and commit straightaway! :D

Thanks for the replies, there is a mogul black run off the back of signal called col de cluy. It's steep but not that long, is that of a similar difficulty level?

No you are not alone.... you know my opinion if it is not enjoyable what is the point of doing it ..... just to say that "I've done it"

Roger,

He is another video of Le Tunnel. Not my video, but this was taken in March 11. The narrow start can be avoided when there is more snow by dropping in well before then.

I hope you get to ski it one day, it is a nice run (well i think so anyway!!) :D

Much harder than Col de Cluy, a little steeper, narrower and the moguls a lot more irregular.

Col de Cluy is a blast, but being so wide it's easy to find a good route.

That's my attitude to skiing as well Ian, but the Tunnel is a marked black run and really good fun.

I would not, however, recommend it anyone who is not capable and confident.
