Hi, welcome to J2ski :D

As it's nearly the start of the main season, you might want to keep your skis close to hand at home and take them out and stroke them now and then...or is it only me that does this

Seriously:

The loft will be okay in the winter, but can get too hot in the summer. I suggest, under the bed, behind a door, under the stairs etc.

Make sure that the skis can lie tips down, or tips to the wall and separated, and my own preference is to close the heel piece, though not everyone does this.

If your bindings have been set to fit your boots' length, and your weight, height, ability, then the only other job you may want to tackle is to remove the storage wax( which can be grubby) and have a nice fresh coat of wax put on. You can do this yourself, or ask a dealer to to it for you.

I store mine on a rack in the garage, bandit's right keep the bases apart, and have a go at waxing you own skis
there is plenty of step by step help on the internet it's really not too hard.
What I do on my return from holiday is to dry out, do any repairs and store with a coating of wax over the base and edges to stop rust.

good idea, that's about the worse place you could keep them. Skis like similar places to wine so pop them in the wine cellar ...... I assume everyone does have a wine cellar?

All 3 pairs in the household are stood up against a wall in my office, away from any heating, bases to the wall.
You shouldnt store them with the bases together.
If they are new, they ought to have a coating of wax, so they should be fine to go out on.
However, when you come back, get them edged and waxed at least, cost around £15-£20, or do them in resort on the last night.
You may require a service if the bases get scratched or damaged, check them when you get back.

And no, Admin - you are not the only one who strokes/kisses/cuddles his skis!

Ise - no such luck with a wine celler. Only the filthy rich in the UK can claim to have a wine celler I would imagine. I do have a cold pantry though, which is perfect for storing the old vino.
