Embarrassing Clothing

Hirsty posted Nov-2008

Another thread got me thinking - have you had an embarrassing piece of clothing? Socks and sandals, shorts with turn ups moments? I bought the below Columbia jacket (older version) about 5 years ago.

Apart from being a rubbish jacket, it seemed that half of Paradiski had the same jacket on. There is a photo album somewhere of people in my jacket including one of 3 of us in a row queueing for a chair.

Went first time and had to borrow an all in one red suit - I looked like a blood clot.

I must say Andy I have never owned an all in one suit, but I did have one of those Nevica multi color two piece popular in the late eighty's, how sad is that !!! :(

You've got me - green is worse than red. Although not appreciated at the time!

Ohhh... but think of the advantages of wearing a popular jacket. That is to say, if there are several jackets the same and let's just suppose you may be a skier (or boarder) who likes to push the allowable limits of going faster than the ski patrol would like to see. With a unique jacket you are more easily "nailed" for the infraction .... but if you were wearing a jacket of which there were a few more like it on the hill --- this may play to your advantage.

I wear a rather unique jacket which I was very fortunate to have given to me. It is really comfortable and perfect in the -20C days. It really stands out so I have to try to behave. This jacket is from Jay Peak in the US. Bold colours and bold markings. Beautiful ! People who recognize it as different, ask my connections to Jay Peak as it is a jacket which is not for sale on the regular market.
