I normally get our ski travel insurance through work, get good staff discount too. It has always seemed more than enough cover for ski/board mountain rescue etc. It does always say about protective wear etc.
The only thing is from what I remember, it does not cover extra activities or dangerous activities, {I thought ski-ing was). We have quite often gone on a bob-sleigh run, ice skating, sledging, hot air ballooning. Next year we will be hiring snow -mobiles, going husky riding and reindeer safari. I dont think our normal insurance will cover this. What type of insurance do you all have? It needs to cover everything. I know the husky, reindeer and snow-mobiles inc in the cost say with insurance, but have no way of knowing how well insured.

Rose, Have a good look at the small print on the annual ski policy from these folks. I may try them next winter. Head for the FAQ's section, Sports & Activities.

PS I don't work for them :-)

Get yourself a Natwest Advantage Gold account, and you get free travel insurance for you and your family, including ski and winter sports cover as part of the deal. I know other banks do similar things, but I found Natwests to be the best all round package for things like this.

Rose, one golden rule with all Travel Insurance. Read all the (really) small print before you buy. Some of the so called wintersports policies are quite stingy in the levels of cover, what activities you can participate in, and for how long per year
I get the impression that some have been written by folks who know very little about modern winter sports.

We have a new-fangled bank account with the Bank of Scotland - travel insurance is part of the deal - the whole family is covered for summer and winter.
It's only a slope.
