Just watched last weeks episode of the above. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the distinct lack of skiing on the new series of Ski Sunday. Obviously the producers are trying to follow a winning formula from the guys at TG, the only problem being, when TG do a road trip it's interesting because the road trip is in the subject matter, i.e. a car. When whatshisface went on a road trip across Australia for 20mins of tele I think I'd rather have watched Eddie the Eagle :!: Not to mention the annoying habit he had of calling his caravan the 'Rapide' when it was clearly a 'Rapid'. And let's face it, as the team from TG will tell you, the only thing to do with a caravan on telly these days is either burn it or drop something on it from a great height, perhaps Ed Leigh......
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

I concur.
The show has lost its relevance.
The other week I thought that road trip to Siberia was absolutely pointless because the only people who would be interested in the journey time and route to Siberia are the family of the convicts who have been sent there.
They certainly need to readdress this and get some more skiing highlights.
The programme on C4 on Sunday morning covers the same races and is much more interesting.

yep, i'm with you.
seeing the resorts in the summer defeats the object and leaves me frustrated.
saying that, still love to watch it for the relevant bits and really enjoyed seeing ed bottle it with the ice diving this week

I saw my hotel in Zermatt on the show this week. I was there at the end of the summer....skiing :D
Why on earth did the BBC feel the need to blow the budget on going ice diving in New Zealand. It's been offered in Tignes in the winter for years. If it is no longer offered in europe I stand to be corrected :D

Couldn't agree more...David Vine and Konrad Bartelski would be turning in their graves (if they were dead, that is!)

I thought it was an excellent show this week.

I'm not disagreeing, and next time I decide I want to go to St Moritz in the summer I'll have something to refer back to. My point was the lack of 'ski' (or board) in SKI SUNDAY. Even when they do show some ski racing it's the ladies downhill from the day before and they can't even be arsed to show the super G from the same day which had a couple of nasty falls (i.e. which would have made interesting TV). Personally I think the coverage on British Eurosport this season has been spot on and is pretty much always on over the weekend when at home.Tony_H wrote:I thought it was an excellent show this week.

I like the idea of having one or two "other" features, but they do seem to be over doing it imho.
I suppose if you can be bothered to get up in time you have the Channel 4 race offerings, but that Nick Fellowes (is that his name?) is so BLOODY ANNOYING its untrue! He sounds as though he's about to multiple orgasm at the slightest thing.
And Michaela Dorfmeister - surely the most unattractive female on telly/skis/both.
Rant over.
