You should be able to do this by train. While it tends to take a while, its not too different that flying when you take into account check-in times and time to get to and from the airport at both ends.

There is an option, departing Florence at 10pm getting into Zermatt at 6.33am. Given that you obviously have youth on your side, it should be no bother to travel overnight. Then you should be in resort ready to board all day on the 4th :lol: :lol: :lol:. If you have the stamina the same thing would be possible for the return journey, i.e travel overnight on the 7th, getting back to Florence early on the 8th.
