I am planning to take my grown up kids and their kids on a christmas ski chalet holiday in 2010. I know it might seem a long way off but I would like some advice on where there is an almost certain likelyhood of snow falling over the christmas period and great skiing and any good chalets that people know of in this category

I would agree - Val Thorens - high resort so usually got snow. We went this Christmas - (1st time we have gone ski-ing over the Christmas week) - it was the BEST Christmas we have had for a long time! Have 2 kids - 15 and 11 years and stayed at the Hotel val Thorens. I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel. We had a lovely room with an adjoining annex room for the kids. Service was superb, 4 course meal every eve and a gala 6 course meal on Christmas eve (when Santa also visited the hotel!. We were very luck with the snow - conditions were great and the resort was not overly busy - in fact some days we had certain runs all to ourselves. Defo planning to go again this year if we can. :D
