I am off to Meribel next week for my second week this winter but lets be honest, I need more!
The only extra time off i can get is a long weekend on about the 4th of April.I have never skied this late before so need some guidence on where to go.
We will fly to Geneva,Grenoble or anywhere that Ryanair will fly to from Dublin.
I was thinking of france again but would like to go somewhere else as i have only ever skied France or Italy and want to see more.
So if anyone has ideas for me I would be very gratefull.
Thanks...gar :D

Geneva to Zermatt, here's how it was on 22nd April last season :

Zermatt's closer to Geneva than Tignes, it's about 10km further in terms of distance but the roads are better. That's moot anyway as you'd really want to be getting the train that leaves from Geneva airport.

I have well and truly got the bug now, and last season had 3 full weeks skiing. I have had one recently, and am off to Sauze in 4 weeks, but will probably NEED another week late in the season.
I really fancy Zermatt, and Ise's pictures just confirm that it needs to be investigated.
There is a bloke who does cheap weekends in Tignes, £79 for accommodation and lift from Geneva airport. I think Ellestine has the details.

Thanks Ise,great pictures and Zermatt looks like an opton but just mabey that bit long of a drive from Geneva for the weekend.
Tony,I like the idea of Tignes too.Its high and 79 quid seems like a great deal too.
Any details Ellestine?

Hi Gareth
I know how you feel. My annual ski trip is coming up at the end of February but I wanted another fix. So.... four of us are off to Soll tomorrow for the weekend - yippee ''.
We are flying to Munich with Aer Lingus, mid afternoon and coming back Monday evening. The flight is late enough to allow practically a full day skiing on Monday if you hire a car. So for 1.5 days off work, you can get 3 days skiing.
Downside is that the resorts closest to airport are fairly low and April could be dodgy.
Ryanair to Friedrichshaven is another possibility, only an hour or two from St Anton which is high and fantastic. However, the outward flight is at dawn and so is the return so you would miss a lot of sleep!
Best of Luck with your plans.

For the past 2 years, I've skiied at this time. Avoriaz and La Plagne, with my 7 year son. The snow was super and the weather perfect. We return to La Plagne again for a week on 5th April. Looking at the condition now, this year should be good too. As long as you're 2000m plus this year should be cool.
Avoriaz is excellent for a short break. Very close to Geneva and the snow should be good. P&V offer accommodation for less than 7 night, at 'off peak times' cheap too.

You'll never know, unless you try...
