snow in april...advice please!!

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in but was wondering if anyone knew if there was likely to be decent snow in chamonix in late April?!
Am thinking of going for a long weekend but trying to miss the school holiday rush and can't go anytime before then. I will be boarding and probably doing mainly red runs if that helps!

Chamonix is a bit on the low side for late April unless snow comes really late. Never been but friends have and say it gets very slushy low down. Best to go higher. We always go to Tignes. Snow gteed, weather fantastic, loads of lifts & runs. If you are prepared to go far and wide you can find some great, barely touched runs & make a real good day of it!
