car hire at Geneva Airport

I need to hire 2 two cars or a large people carrier / minibus from Geneva Airport for UK Feb half term week. There are 7 of us (4 adults and 3 children)+ loads of luggage (3 pairs of ski's). We can not hire a private tranfer bus as Geneva is not the nearest airport to the resort we are going to. I was wondering which hire company to use, any reccommdations would be most helpful.

Don't use Hertz - they always have a queue, and are notorious for 'extras' added (and they have no 'drive away' service). Budget are usually the most honest - I use them as the baseline for comparison. All the companies charge extra for snowchains. Sometimes www.sixt.ch have offers that aren't on sixt.com

It can work out cheaper to hire one car and fill it with luggage, while others take the train, then use the car as a taxi/shuttle at the other end. Sometimes people like Sixt have 6/8-seater passenger vans at reasonable rates.

Hire from the Swiss side - not the French - irrespective of where you're travelling.

Which resort are you going to? We have several transfer partners who, together, cover quite a range of resorts from Geneva.

With 7 travelling I'd be surprised if you can't get a private transfer at a reasonable rate.

The problem I've always had is that most private transfer websites don't quote rates and I've had to go through entering my details to get a quote again and again, only to find that it's turned out outrageously expensive every time. I've given up bothering. All I'd recommend is you have at least one car/van hire quote from somewhere like Sixt for comparison.

I have found a couple of Private transfers from Geneoble airport but not Geneva. We choose Geneva rather than Geneoble because easyjets flight times were better. The flight gets in earlier enough, even with the longer transfer to sort out lift passes, ski hire for the kids and food the day we get there.

Hi, bumping an old thread.

I am trying to find transfers from Geneva to Les Deux Alpes. To save anyones time, I am well aware Grenoble is a lot closer to L2A than Geneva, however there are only flights out of there on a weekend, and we are flying Thursday 22nd March -Monday 26th March

There are 17 of us travelling.

Our two options, the way I see it, is:
Private Transfer. Best price so far has been £80 return.
Hire a minibus.

I cant find any where for the latter. Surely there must be a place where you can hire minibuses or coaches in Geneva?
