Hi, we are heading for a Xmas week and have been offered either of the two above resorts. Does any one have any preferances. We are not ultra skilles skiers, but want somewhere with good snow coverage and lots of activities and nice accom options. Your contrinution is much appreciated!

Both resorts usually have reasonable snow at Christmas. Both are well endowed with snow cannons. On balance Alpe d'Huez has more easily accessible runs for beginners and intermediate skiers. Hope this helps.

tignes, love it... plenty of stuff to do like, subaru ice driving , scuba diving underneath the frozen lake, big fitness center, skiin off the mountain with a parachute and an instructor strapped to you! fantastic not too busy round xmas either 3rd year in a row for us now, although were driving this time instead of flying. 17 of us going and the ages range from 72(my grandad and yes he still skis!) to only 7 years old! skiied D'Huez last feb it was ace if you go see of you can find a band called hudson fall.. or summat like that, there brilliant! both fantastic resorts, i think tignes is higher up though??
