Due to my job sending me somewhere hot dusty for 4 months, I'm missing out on my usual dose of ski fun this winter. I won't be able to book anything until 14 Apr 08.
Can someone point me in the direction of where I would be best looking at for going away for a week or 10 days at this time of year.
Alps would be fine, at a push and stretching the money I could probably do Canada or USA, but whats the general opinion of whether there is likely to be anything worthwhile left to ski on at this time of year.

Thanks for you time

HI I went to Courchevel last year about that time. There was pleanty of snow up at 1850 over to meribel and val thorens. Though it can get a bit slushy. I'd recommended holding back and just watching the snow forcast. Book it about 3 - 4 weeks before you go rather than now.

I would also go high: places like Tignes, Val Thorens Chamonix. Avoid the souther alpes and south facing resorts like the plague. The more sun plus the more heat = less snow at that time of year.

Oh if money is no object try South America or New Zealand!

I'm based in the midlands so happy to fly from all places from London up to Manchester.
And I'm afraid money is a object so the southern hemisphere is just out of reach!!!

I skiid in australia a couple years ago as i was "passing" its not all its cracked up to be. Anyway you can go to USA very very cheaply! If you book through a tour company you pay occupancy if you havnt got 4 people in the room so if you go direct your on to a winner.

So say you wanted to go to Banff you fly zoom-transfer with the Banff airporter (right to door of hotel)-and stay at the inns of banff-cheapest in town and first bus stop. We went 2nd week in april and paid around £500 each for flights direct, transfers and hotel. "Canny beat it". If there is any where else youve been looking at or fancied give me a shout and ill see how cheaply i can get it done for you! I'm not a tour operator but ive done it a fair few times.

I took a look, if you want to go as late as the 19th you can get a cheap zoom flight if not an air canada flight departing ont hte 15th is £419 and thats staying for one week. Accomodation ath the hidden ridge is £400 but if you were splitting that it would work out a lot cheaper if, for example you were going with someone else. Really depends on wher eyou want to go because Banff gets more expensive the closer to summer you go. 4 other hotels i checked were fully booked.

:D ,Hi i always have the the last week in Les Arcs in france (last day this season is 26th april i think), out of the last five years there has been good snow for the last four, although this year i had to go up to Arc 2000 to get on the lifts as the last part of th erun back to Arc 1600 was patchy so they stopped the Arpette lift. This year is going to be good all over the alps i feel so if no one books my apartment for the last week i shall go myself again, with a return flight luton to geneva from around £50 and a weeks car hire through autoeurope 0800 169 9797 for about £135 this can prove a cheap week. Also in the last ski week all lift passes are half price and usually on the last day they are free, with the added attraction of the last week three friends and myself this year only met about 50 people skiing all week it seemed, and was like having your own personal ski resort.
but wherever you choose to go have a pleasant safe trip.
