Hi All,
Its summer time, which means I start organising next seasons trip!
We've got a group of varying abilities, from beginners to intermediates.
I'm tossing up between Tignes and Les Arc, does anyone have any idea which would be the better resort for us? Or if you think any other resorts are better suited.
Thanks!

tlieng,
Both resorts are extensive, high and reasonably snow sure with magnificent mountain scenery. On the downside both have awful resort architecture, although les Arcs is marginally better in my opinion.
I would opt for Les Arcs as far as the beginners in your group are concrned. I understand that the ski school, there, still teaches the 'ski evolutif' method whereby beginners start on very short skis and progress through the week to longer ones. My sister learned, there, very rapidly and I have talked to several others who swear by the method for fast and enjoyable progress.

Another vote for Les Arcs. Tignes for beginners and novices can feel a bit too challenging.
There is IMV for a mixed ability party, more terrain in Les Arcs, where the whole group can enjoy the same hill as there is a choice of descent routes.
Les Arcs always seems to me to be more learner friendly.
Additionally, Tignes can be very bleak in bad weather, as it's way above the tree line. With Les Arcs, if the weather is poor, there are tree lined runs below Arc 2000, at 1600 and also at Peisey :D

Geoff/bandit,
Thanks for the advice... looks like Les Arcs it is!
Another bonus is that its a bit cheaper too.
Most of us are snowboarding, so I'm not sure if the ski evoltif method will work for us.
Have an awesome season.

Hi Tlieng,
I would agree with les Arcs too and i would even advise Peisey-Vallandry, down on the resort of Les Arcs.
Lovely architecture of the village, very good beginner slopes and skipass just for the area available for the beginners. No need to pay the full Les Arcs area if not needed.
