Hi all. I am an EPIC Pass holder and with my buddy we are planning on skiing the 3Vs. We are between intermediate and expert in all conditions and prefer to go deep if possible. Considering we will ski 7 consecutive days (late Feb/early March) where should we setup our base? The EPIC allows us to ski at these resorts:
Val Thorens
Méribel
Courchevel
Les Menuires
Saint Martin de Bellevelle
La Tania
Orelle
Brides-Les-Bains
Thx much

Maribel is most central and allows you to go in any direction quickly.

The higher resorts command a premium on price but make getting up high early much easier.
I would go for Meribel Mottaret as a first choice if you find suitable accommodation.
Easier access to the higher slopes in the Meribel Valley, Mont Vallon for example.
Quicker links to the top of the Val Thorens Valley and for the Creux Noire and Chanrossa areas in the Courchevel valley as well as only one lift to the famous Courchevel couloirs
You are going at what should be a great time, after the main school holidays.
This is a bit old but useful background - I believe the author has died.

I have been there 5 times and stayed in Mottaret on each occasion. We have found it a great central location, easy to head to both Courchevel and VT valleys and a quick green ski down to the main Meribel hub.
Wherever you choose you should be fine as the linkage between areas is very good. Each area has its own merits (Les Menuires is as stated the cheapest as an example) but for a central base I really couldn't look past the highest resort in the middle valley! Good luck with whichever you choose.
