Hi all,
is there decent public or private transportation between Heavenly - Northstar - Squaw Valley - ....?
I am wondering if it's worth having a car or if I can count on local transportation. I will most likely stay in the South Lake Tahoe area unless someone recommends a better center spot to hit few of the resorts. Planning on being there for 12 days. Thx

Not a very good service, I'm afraid. When I was last there two years ago the only public transport option was to go from South Lake Tahoe via Reno to Squaw which took several hours. Better daily service to Sierra and Kirkwood (from January) by bus. The first time I went there (15 years ago) there was tour bus from SLT to Squaw which involved return and dinner on a paddle steamer.

Thank you. Good info. I think I will either rent a car in Reno for the entire stay or take a shuttle from Reno to SLT and rent the car daily if needed. Cheers mate.
