ouch :(

I hope you were doing something radical when it happened. Injuries always seem more worth while if you were taking a chance. Mend quickly.

Sorry to hear about your accident - hope you're on the mend soon and manage to get away to Chile to enjoy your holiday (with or without the snowboard). )

Thanks all for your kind thoughts, I got out of hospital on Saturday but have had a chronic headache since Thursday night which is apparently due to my skull healing  On Friday they had me on a mixture of 5 painkillers: Paracetamol, IV Paracetamol, Diclofenac, Ibuprofen and Novocaine :!:

Shoulder feels remarkably good, lots of movement but just cant put a lot of load on it so far. Have a follow up x-ray this week, but if it's anything like the last ones I may not bother.....they made me stand upright and hold 30 lbs weights in either hand to drop my shoulders so they could see the extent of the fracture!!! I could'nt complian however as the young x-ray technician was a very cute lass indeed :D

Accident may have been a blessing in diguise as they found inetresting stuff going on in my brain unrealated to the fall. All in all i had 6 x-rays, 2 CT scans and 2 MRI's performed. Neurologist said its impossible to determine what exactly is going on, so if I suffer any motor problems, increased sensitivity or lack of cognative function I must immediately return for MRI to compare it to the baseline they now have. So looks like I will be there evry Friday night  If not I must return in 3 months and have it done anyway. Could be as innocent as atifacts from childhood. He also said flying to Santiago should be no problem, so I think I will go and do some photography instead of boarding, will be good to take the break.

So lessons learnt:

1. Don't do any other sport than snowboarding
2. Buy a helmet
3. Hospitals are the worst pace on earth if you have a chronic headache

Tino I can't believe the bad luck and after all the fretting over th snow!!

Santiago is an ok city but it didn't overwhelm I can definitely recommend you to visit Valparaisio and if the pass is open spend a few days in Mendoza as it as a fab city and the wine tours are even better :)!!

Blimey, I bet you glow in the dark after that lot!

Does this mean that you will be retiring your beanie in favour of a snowboarding helmet too?

Good news that you are cleared to fly, though I would find it very depressing to be in a resort and not able to get out there!

I always had a sneaky suspicion that you were nuts... )

BTW how is the road you attacked with your body? )

Take things easy for a few weeks, if you can :D
