Glencoe Mountain Update - Fri 28th March
Some stunning conditions earlier this week and it's looking good for the weekend with a forecast for light to moderate South Easterly winds and the promise of sunshine.
Snow conditions
A wide and deep snow cover across all runs on the mountain. Lovely spring snow which is firming up overnight but then softening nicely in the sun. Lovely on the groomed line first thing but a little hard on shaded slopes first thing in the morning. Best tip is follow the sun around the mountain for the best sliding.
Rescue shed makes an appearance for the first time in months
Weekend weather
Saturday - a mixture of sunshine and clouds but staying dry. Wind light to moderate south easterly (20 -30mph).
Sunday - more of the same but with even lighter winds.
(We get a large amount of shelter in a south easterly wind so wind speeds likely to be even lower than forecast).
Huge amounts of snow at the side of ski tow gulley
Weekend events
Lots happening at Glencoe this weekend with the Glencoe Snow Festival, including the Glencoe Freestyle rail jam and a mass descent from the summit to the plateau cafe (Saturday at precisely 12.30pm) and various other activities.
