Hi I live in Javea , i have never been skiing before! I would like to go skiing with a friend. If someone could tell me where the best place is for beginners to ski ... preferably not too far away from javea...how much roughly and whether you can just turn up hire ski stuff n just go skiing there and then! Also does every ski resort have dry slopes? do you have to have experience on a dry slope beforehand? sprry for the stupid questions...its all new to me :p Any advice/info would be appreciated! :)

Sierra Nevada near Grenada would be your closest place.
I skied there for a day about 10 years ago - it is a small resort and ideal for beginners.
Hiring boots and skis is simple in the resort - you would need to have the correct clothing before you went.
The weather is very variable over the season from baking hot in the sunshine to very cold as you would expect in a ski resort.
Have a search on the internet for the resort and see what accommodation is available, the skiing side is simple to organise except during main holiday periods perhaps. You would need to organise lessons.
Good luck.
