Me and a freind are flying into geneva on 2nd march and want to get to the 3 vallys area,can any advice on transport either trains,buses etc would be apreciated.Which station is closest to 3v area.Thanks in advance.

You can't get to the French resorts by train from GVA. You need the public bus or a shared or private minibus transfer. Just google gva to the resort transfers and you'll get lots of info.

i find that renting a car is cheaper than resort transfers,

Although it does seem to be getting more of a PITA to use hire cars from GVA every year.

Does anyone know if you have to get the bus to your hire car on the French side too? French side used to have its own small hire car parking but that was many years ago...

5 of us went 2 weeks ago to Les Menuires we hired a car in Grenoble gave it back in geneva 5 days rental and it cost £279 divide it by 5 = 55.8 per person

Being an old skin flint I do prefer to hire from the swiss side just to get the winter tyres for free .... seven day car hire £183, I thought a good deal.
