Hello everyone. Long time no speak, hope you're all well :D
I've managed to get a sneaky 4 night trip to Les Gets in with three girlfriends and wanted a bit of advice. I know that it's very family orientated, we're not looking to go mad but would like to find the bars/restaurants that would be most lively for a bit of apres or dinner? Any idea where would be best to spend Paddy's night?
As some of you know, I'm not the strongest skier (despite tons of practice!). What are the runs like to and from Morzine?
Thanks
xx

Caron, Snowbandit and Scapula are resident in Morzine and will be the best for info both on and off the slopes :D

I have memories of gentle tree lined slopes. I think you will have a great time 8)

Has to be the Irish Bar on Paddy's night!

Thanks guys. My workload doubled a couple of years back and I had no time on my hands (that's sorted now thankfully). Also, I'm afraid, I lost passion after a bad time of it in Selva last season. However, ever persistent as I am, I gave blading a go on the last two days in Val Thorens at Christmas and really enjoyed the second day. So, another new discipline for me

Gentle tree lined slopes sound right up my street Bandit

Robauxgets - I'd missed that there was an Irish bar. Decision made!

On the mountain you have to find La Paika on La Varosses piste in the Chavannes sector - barbecue steaks, salads as big as they come and a dessert table groaning with scrummy home-made puds. Main courses around 20€ though daily specials were cheaper.
In the village Le Copeaux was exceptionally busy - we had to wait for a table in January, but it's well worth it. They serve Savoyard dishes but in a modern style. We had lovely vegetarian meals but most were eating steaks or duck served with various sauces. Expect to pay 20-30€ for a meat main course.
For an after ski drink and value meals, we found that the central L'Op Traken bar restaurant was friendly and down to earth. Traditional meals or pizzas in the dining room started at around 8-50€.
For a unique experience and only if you love cheese - book a table in the vaulted dining room at La Fruitière and Auberge des Perrière - these are the old cheese-maturing caves. Cheesemaker and restaurant on the same site with a small deli selling dairy and other local foods, the restaurant is amazing and will serve up a delicious traditional Savaoyard meal from 23€ per person. :-)

As bandit says the runs to and from Morzine are nice and gentle and wide ..should be no problem for you ...There is an Irish type bar in Morzine called Dixies that always celebrates Paddies night with live music etc.
This was last years report
