I am not sure if anyone can offer any advice but we are off to Val Thorens on 14th January and are looking to book my 8 year old in to the ski school. We have skiied for yeard but had a nightmare in Austria last year as booked it through Crystal and they completely messed it up. Does anyone have any advice they can give on booking and where is good for lift passes and childs equipment hire. We are staying in the Balcon area of town. Thanks for any advice.

Hi
I am off there that same week. Book your lift passes online on the VT website. Ski gear, I have always reserved online before we go, then just turn up give voucher and off you go. I use intersport as their price was the best. There are loads of others in vt, all with shops all over the town.
Ski school. I have used ESF in the past and have been good. Make sure you get one with good English speaking!! Not pigeon English!
Have great time!!

Thanks Iceman, the snow is looking good for us isnt it!!! I am fed up booking the extras with Crystal so will have a look at the website and thanks I looked at ESF but needed a bit of reassurance as not skiied in France for 5 years at which time my daughter was in the snow garden so it didnt matter.
Hope you have a great time too.

Try also Prosneige ski school - more expensive but smaller classes and more english-speaking instructors than the ESF.

My oh used esf last yr in VT and i have to say they were very good... I had a 121 lesson the yr before, same resort and again delivered good results.... But like everyone says make sure they spy good English, which most do to be fair...
