Hmmm difficult 1 as the 2 places are on different sides of the mountain to each other. Saint Martin is only a small place, you would be better off getting yourself upto les menuires for après, or Val Thoren.
If I was you I'd forget après in meribel, unless you have deep pockets and can afford a taxi each night.

St Martin to Meribel is right down the hill and back up the other side via Moutiers, must be about 25 miles and getting on for an hour each way.
Les Menuires will be your closest bigger place but it depends what you want in night life and what sort of accomodation you are staying in as to the viability.

The taxi costs about 120 Euro's from Meribel to St Martin.
St Martin is quiet but Le Dahlia is busy for Apres Ski and Pourqois Pas can be lively at times but that's about it really.
There are disco's in Les Menuires and Val Thorens you can bus it there and taxi back.
When are you going? Where are you staying? St Martin will probably be at its' liveliest that week!! Saying that the 3V skiing is superb and from there you can reach pretty much every resort on skis in an hour.
Heres a picture from today - yesterday there was no snow so all good....

St Martin is a little sleepy as far as nightlife goes. Head up to Les Menuires for clubs and pubs. Still not the apres ski centre of the universe, but definitely more lively than St M.
