Yeah, I dip in now and again.
Just got back from no t so sunny Corfu and the closest I got to skiing was looking at the lucky people off skiing from Gatwick.
Depressing.
Son off to Les Deux Alpes on weekend.
Looks like snow has held up pretty well for him
Have a good summer all.

Hi,
Snowbandit has a user name of snowb4ndit in case you have problems finding her.

I used a kindergarten in Austria years ago for my kids then aged 7 and 4.
They skied for 2 hours morning and afternoon and had lunch and play for a couple of hours.
They were ok, but there were omly a couple of other English kids for them to make friends with.

If i did it again I'd go for an English company with other English kids, which is the sort of thing it sounds like you are thinking of?

It's only next week, there will be plenty. Don't worry.

Well, last week we had one massive dump for 36 hours, and a couple of smaller ones later on. But in between times the temperature was reported to be between -6c and 0c first thing in the morning in resort, and higher up the mountain.
One afternoon I took a photo of a temperature gauge outside a bar high up above Villeneuve. It was boiling hot and we were stripping off, the gauge showed 35c!!!!!!

Snow was holding up well in Serre Che right up until the last afternoon (Friday 22nd) when it started to break up below 1800m and was suffering badly over on the Briancon side where we skied literally one run and headed back over to Chantmerle where the snow was totally different!!!

It dumped another 30cm the day we left, but I don't know about L2A. I can say that once we drove across the Col du Lautraet from SC to Grenoble, the snow on the ADH/L2A side was significantly less visible along the roads and up the mountains. La Grave looked dreadful.

Cheers
I think he will probably doing as much drinking as skiing so I expect he'll be happy.
Sounds like I had better try a week in Les Carroz then!
Love the whole ski area, so will give it a go one day. And I have often said LC is my fave ski area in the GM.

Have been to Samoens loads of times in April though and in my opinion, in worse snow years, there's always been plenty of skiing, especially for a beginner.
Yeah, but unless you have a car it's not practical for a beginner to do that.
The runs to/ from Les Carroz/ Flaine are hairy at the best of times. ( thinking the Tourmaline) and I think the Silice. Tricky!

Stay in Samoens and learn there!
Stunning village and great learner area too.
