It is clear from the piste map, that you can pick up from the resort, which area your pass covers. as long as you make sure you know where you're going when you go up the Grands Vans, you should be fine. The Flaine area is shown surrounded in red/orange. If you can though, buy a day pass at least once to cover the whole of the Grand Massif, It's worth it. |

I wouldn't have said 20-26th March was particularly late in the season. Most resorts in Northern Alps have got a month to go from then.
We've been in April and had fantastic conditions for several years. You have quite a large choice including Chamonix area, Espace Diamant and those already mentioned. Apart from Flaine not much of the Grand Massif is ski in/ski out, though I think parts of Les Caroz will have good access. |

I did roast beef and yorkshire pud tonight and have to say it was rather good.
My secret for good yorkshire puds is to get the oven REALLY hot. I chuck in about 4 oz plain flour, 2 eggs and enough milk to make a not thin (but not thick) batter. I'm sure there is a description for the consistency. I use sunflower oil or the like, I find olive oil sticks. Then take the meat out to rest...and whack the oven up. Get the fat hot, then pour in the batter. Take about 12 mins. And we watched Ski Sunday 1st! Enjoy. |

On the ski club of Great Britain a couple of weeks ago there was an article saying that a helmet law for under 14s in Austria had been pushed through following the death of a skier
I can't find it on there now though :?: - so perhaps an error... I found this article though http://www.skiclub.co.uk/skiclub/news/story.asp?intStoryID=6155 |

Hello,
If the Samoens chalet is cheaper I'd go there. You won't be disappointed with the skiing and the village is lovely. The gondola is out of the village but there is a bus constantly running and you can catch it from a number of places in the village. If you buy a 6 day lift pass for the Grand Massif you can have a day in the Portes du Soleil, though it was only on our 3rd trip there that we felt ready for a change. We've been in April twice and have had great conditions. The only time we've had bad snow was Feb HT 07 and most places did really. It could be a bit slushy towards Samoens 1600, but this is to be expected in April. Go, Enjoy! |
