My son is doing a ski season in La Rosiere (linked) says snow is awesome. He loves it there. Enjoy.

I saw some in a local shop recently that looked like mittens but had fingers built in.
Felt cosy when I tried them, but when I took them off the fingers came too and all turned inside out. That would dement me!

Would love to say I want to be added to the list but looks like I am missing out this season. On the plus side due to a 2 week trip to India booked for Feb. This is what I'm calling 'The Eff It' tour having just completed 5 weeks of radiotherapy for early breast cancer.
Still looking at this site though, can't ditch the habit.

Ski 2016.
The nightlife in Saalbach is great fun.
The Hinterhagalm was packed at 5pm with live music and dancing on the tables.
There's a short ski to the village and many a person on their backside on way down.
It's a really lively place. Went there last March.. Loved it

If you do decide to take up their offer we'll look forward to the review.

Hi, never driven to N so nothing to contribute there. But, I would think carefully about driving the night while the kids are asleep (as per Dave's suggestion).
We did this once and they arrived refreshed and we were knackered!
We were dead on our feet and I had to trawl them round the village while my husband slept (he had driven and I had snatched a few kips).
We lost the whole of the 1st day that way.
After that we stayed either stayed somewhere en route or just got a really early crossing and arrived early evening.

Of course I don't know how old the kids are, they might be old enough to explore while you sleep off the miles.
